HOLI HAI! SUMMARY

Gauri was excited to celebrate the upcoming holiday of Holi. But when she does not choose her favorite color, yellow, she becomes very upset. Gauri’s grandparents explain the legend of the holiday, which is all about overcoming anger with love.

Gauri reflects on this legend and finds joy in the color she choose. She gathers petals, grinds them, and creates the powder for the holiday.

The next morning, her family wakes up to celebrate Holi. They spread the colors, and have a picnic, reflecting on this first day of spring that represents new beginnings.
