GOODBYE WINTER, HELLO SPRING SUMMARY

Goodbye Winter, Hello Spring is a beautiful written book describing the changes that take place as winter turns to spring. It follows a young boy walking outside with his dog. The boy is taking in the setting around him: the snow falling, the wind blowing branches in the trees, and the frozen water in the pond and brook.

Slowly, he starts noticing signs of winter ending and spring beginning. It is getting lighter out earlier and the snow is starting to melt. New leaves are starting to grow on the trees and the animals are coming back out. The sun is much brighter and it is getting warmer outside.

Kenard Pak’s book is the perfect way to discuss the change of seasons with students!
