When I am consulting with or presenting to teachers about How to Organize a Classroom, I always put lots of emphasis on the importance of creating effective classroom storage solutions.
Having a designated space for every type of paper and every object combined with labels will make it easy to maintain an organized classroom.
Some things are a bit trickier than others. While my greatest storage struggle was finding the perfect way to store oversized construction paper (click that link to see the solution I happily found), I found rubber stamps and stickers to be a close second.
Do you use rubber stamps when grading papers? They certainly are a more cost effective option than stickers but can be tricky to store.
This is an excellent way to store them by category and make them easy to access.
- The stamps can be placed flat to avoid damage to them.
- It makes it easy to find exactly what you are looking for.
- If you buy more than one set of drawers, you can change them out seasonally.
You can purchase the drawers that are designed to hold things like nails and screws or those pull out plastic drawers that come as 8.5×11 and 12×12.
I suggest getting one with drawers large enough to also store ink pads. You could even designate a drawer for ink pads.
