Christmas Writing Prompt Activities: How to Wrap a Present

This fun Christmas writing prompt activity invites students to write directions for others to follow explaining how to wrap a present, specifically how to wrap a gift box. This is one of my favorite holiday writing prompts because it is a fun and engaging, real-world situation that students love! The writing resource includes differentiated templates, which makes it accessible to 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students.

As a culminating activity, I always enjoy having someone try to follow the students’ written directions exactly as worded to wrap a box. This reinforces the importance of details and makes for a very memorable experience. Your elementary students will really enjoy this Christmas writing experience!
